Credibility and perception of information of social network's users

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem důvěryhodnosti a vnímání informací na sociálních sítích uživateli. Práce je dělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Cílem teoretické části je představení pojmu důvěryhodnosti a jeho vnímání v různých médiích formou systematické rešerše. Teoretické ukotvení obsahuje vnímání různých médií uživateli v průběhu času od novin až po sociální sítě. Ve výzkumné části práce autorka hodnotí postoje uživatelů na základě věku, pohlaví a vzdělání k informacím publikovaným na sociálních sítích. Jedná se o kvantitativní výzkum, ve kterém je pro získání dat využito dotazníkové šetření. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit vnímání důvěryhodnosti příspěvků s vysokým počtem reakcí, a to jak lajků, tak i komentářů. Jsou zde zkoumány rozdíly v přístupu u zkoumaných skupin lidí ve věku 25 až 34 let a 35 až 55 let. Zajímavým zjištěním je, že respondenti se středním vzděláním ověřují informace na jiných zdrojích více než dotazovaní s vyšším vzděláním.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the topic of the credibility and the perception of information on social networks by users. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The goal of the theoretical part defines the term credibility and the perception of credibility in different media through means of a systematic literature review. In the practical part the thesis evaluates the users‘ approach to information on social networks based on their age, gender and education level. This evaluation is performed in a form of a quantitative research using data obtained through a questionnaire. The research goal is to find out the perception of credibility of posts with a high amount of likes and comments and to determine differences between individual groups included in the questionnaire. The main focus is on people in age groups of 25 to 34 and 35 to 55. An interesting finding is that people with a high school education review and check information on more sources than people with a college and university education.
