Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá architektonickou tvorbou stavitele Jaroslava Kováře st. (1883-1961). Je rozdělena do jednotlivých kapitol, které se chronologicky věnují nejen jeho nejdůležitějším realizovaným stavbám a nerealizovaným návrhům, ale zmiňují i jeho životopis. Cílem diplomové práce bylo shromáždit všechny dostupné informace o jeho životních osudech a architektonické tvorbě, a vytvořit ucelený soubor, který dává představu o jeho tvorbě a osobnosti. Jaroslav Kovář st. pobýval po tři roky v USA, kde působil u různých stavitelských firem. Účastnil se architektonických soutěží po celé České republice, avšak nejvíce jeho realizací bylo provedeno v rámci Olomouckého regionu. Práce se snaží zmapovat jeho tvorbu a vytvořit o ní celistvý obraz. Zkoumá i jeho možné inspirační zdroje. Architektonické dílo J. Kováře st. je rozděleno do čtyř vývojových tvůrčích období dle stylového zaměření a v závěru stručně charakterizováno.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the topic of the architectural works of builder Jaroslav Kovář, Sr. (1883 – 1961). The thesis consists of individual chapters that provide a chronological overview of the most significant works and unrealized projects of this author, and his biography is also mentioned. The objective of this thesis was to collect all accessible information concerning his life path and architectural work and to make an integrated document which would form an image of his work and personality. Jaroslav Kovář, Sr. had lived in the United States for three years where he had worked for various construction companies. He had taken part in architectural tenders throughout the Czech Republic; however, most of his projects had been realized in the Olomouc Region. It is the goal of this thesis to cover his work and to provide the full picture of it. The thesis also tries to analyze the sources of inspiration for this author. The architectural work of Jaroslav Kovář, Sr. is divided into four stages according to the dominating style, at the end of the thesis the work is described briefly.
