Specifics of Nursing care for patients in Muslim World

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce z prostředí poskytování péče v Saudské Arábii, muslimské země, má dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou část. Je zaměřena na specifika ošetřování nemocných v rozdílném kulturním prostředí, na nemocné s muslimským vyznáním, na jejich zvyky, potřeby a schopnosti péči přijmout. Teoretická část se zabývá transkulturním ošetřovatelstvím a jeho aspekty, etickými požadavky, komunikací v multikulturním týmu a s nemocnými se specifickými požadavky. Jsou zde vyjmenovány muslimské země a jejich stručná charakteristika. Dále představuje historii nemocnice Security Forces Hospital, její zaměření a práva nemocných. Praktická část je výzkumným souborem rozhovorů s ošetřujícím personálem v Saudské Arábii pracujícím. Tématem rozhovorů je problematika nově příchozích zaměstnanců, specifika dorozumívání s lékařským a ošetřovatelským týmem, kvalita poskytované péče, ochrana nemocných a náročnost ošetřovatelské práce. Práce objasňuje zvláštnosti péče na jednotkách intenzivní péče, pohled druhé strany multikulturního týmu a v neposlední řadě se rozhovory prolíná diference potřeb nemocných a jejich rodin.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis is from the environment of nursing care in Saudi Arabia, which is muslim country. The thesis has two parts, theoretic and practic. It si focused on specific factors of nursing care of patient in different cultural place, on the patients with muslim faith, on their custums, needs a abilities to accept the nursing care. Theoretic part is also about transcultural nursing and its apects, ethic needs, communication in multicultural nursin team, and communication with patients. There are appointed muslims' countries and theirs short characteristic, presented of Saudi Arabia's Security Forces Hospital's history, it's orientation and patients' rights a responsibilities. The practic part is summary research of interview with nursing team working there. The topics of the interview are about matters of new workers, specifics of communication between physician and nursing team, patient's safety, and severity of nursing work. My thesis clarifies speciality of nursing care in intensive care units, focus from other side of multicultural team and discribes differences in patient's and familie's needs.
