The Abuse of the Elderly - A Significant Social Problem

Abstract:

Týrání seniorů je závažný společenský jev, který má mnoho podob a příčin. Nejčastěji jde o formu domácího a institucionálního násilí, jako je týrání, zanedbávání, zneužívání psychické, fyzické, sociální i ekonomické. Příčinou bývá dysfunkce rodiny, sociální izolace, v institucích je to nízké povědomí pečujících o právech klientů a pacientů, nerespektování jejich individuality a autonomie, ve společnosti je to malý zájem o tuto populační skupinu. Jde o závažné situace, které vznikají působením nepříznivých sociálních činitelů při narušení sociální rovnováhy starého člověka. Tyto situace pak musí být řešeny multidisciplinárně a napříč celou společností.

Abstract:

The abuse of elderly people is a signifiant social feature which has many forms and causes. In most cases i tis a matter of domestic and institutional violence such as maltreament, neglect, mental, physical,social and economical abuse. I tis usually caused by disfunction of a family and social isolation. In institutions are social worker?s poor awarened of the client?s and patient?s rights,disrespect of their individuality and self-government, and in society is a tepid interest of this population group. These significant situations are caused by direkt impal of severe factors while disturbing social balance of the elder person have to be multi-disciplinary settled throught the whole society.
