Nursing care of pacient with delirium

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá specifika ošetřovatelské péče o pacienta s deliriem. Delirium je akutní stav, který postihuje pacienty v nemocničním prostředí a charakterizuje se zmateností, dezorientací, narušenou pozorností a změnami v kognitivních funkcích. Ošetřovatelská péče o pacienta v deliriu je nezbytná pro zajištění bezpečnosti, prevenci komplikací a zlepšení kvality života pacienta. Hlavním cílem práce bylo stanovit nezbytné činnosti ošetřovatelské péče u pacientů ve stavu deliria. První část bakalářské práce je teoretická, druhá část se opírá o kvalitativní výzkum, který byl proveden formou případové studie na standartním chirurgickém oddělení v nemocnici na Vsetínsku. Data, která formulují praktickou část, byla získávána pozorováním a analýzou zdravotnické dokumentace. Zkoumáním bylo zjištěno, že nejdůležitějšími činnostmi v péči o pacienta s deliriem, je jeho prevence, dále poté zajištění bezpečnosti, vhodný spánkový režim, dostatečná hydratace a farmakologická terapie.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines the specifics of nursing care for a patient with delirium. Delirium is an acute condition that affects patients in a hospital setting and is characterized by confusion, disorientation, impaired attention and changes in cognitive function. Nursing care of a delirious patient is essential to ensure safety, prevent complications and improve the patient's quality of life. The main goal of the thesis was to determine the necessary activities of nursing care for patients in a state of delirium. The first part of the bachelor's thesis is theoretical, the second part is based on qualitative research, which was carried out in the form of a case study at a standard surgical department in a hospital in Vsetín. The data that formulate the practical part was obtained by observation and analysis of medical documentation. The research found that the most important activities in the care of a patient with delirium are its prevention, followed by ensuring safety, a suitable sleep regime, sufficient hydration and pharmacological therapy.
