Německojazyčnou literaturu v posledních letech rostoucí měrou spoluutvářejí autoři a autorky s tzv. migračním pozadím, jejichž tvorba získává literární ceny a zaznamenává úctyhodné komerční úspěchy. Zpochybňují tak tradiční model národní literatury, pročež se je nemalá část odborné veřejnosti stále snaží držet mimo hlavní proud literární tvorby vytvářením zvláštních žánrových kategorií.
