Indicators of success of migrants in the process of integration within EU countries

Anotácia:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda způsob a míru integrace migrantů ve státech Evropské unie ovlivňují legislativní přístupy států k integraci a zároveň i různá míra tolerance členů společnosti přijmout mezi sebe imigranty. Míra jejich integrace se dá částečně sledovat skrze indikátory úspěšnosti integrace. Vypracovat soubor obecných a objektivních indikátorů, podle kterých by bylo možné měřit a hodnotit úspěšnost integrace migrantů do hostující společnosti, je však komplikovaný úkol. Indikátory musí být schopny obsáhnout všechny oblasti integračního procesu a vypovídat o skutečném stavu integrace v dané zemi. Takový soubor indikátorů zatím nebyl ustaven. Text pracuje se souborem indikátorů vytvořených v rámci projektu Migrant Integration Policy Index, který je dostačujícím nástrojem pro monitoring integračních politik, avšak postrádá vliv přítomnosti lidského faktoru na proces začleňování imigrantů do společnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine whether the way and level of integration of migrants in the countries of the European Union is influenced by legislative approaches to national integration and also by a different level of tolerance among members of society to accept immigrants themselves. The level of integration can be partially monitored by indicators of successful integration. It is a complicated task to develop a set of general and objective indicators by which would be possible to measure and evaluate the success of the integration of migrants into the host society. Indicators must be able to comprise all areas of the integration process and predicate about the actual state of integration in the country. Such a set of indicators has not been established yet. Text works with a set of indicators created within the project Migrant Integration Policy Index, which is the sufficient tool for monitoring the integration policies, but it lacks the influence of the presence of human factor on the process of integrating immigrants into society.
