Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je vytvořit komentovaný překlad povídky Jana Józefa Szczepańského Biskup jedzie przez morze pocházející se souboru Rafa (1974). Úvodní část se věnuje specifikům literárního překladu a jeho teoretickým východiskům popsaných J. Levým, A. Popovičem, J. Vilikovským a dalšími. V praktické části je představen samotný překlad povídky. V komentáři k překladu jsou zohledněny zejména rozdíly mezi češtinou a polštinou (zrádná slova, syntaktické rozdíly), problematika překladu frazeologismů, kulturních narážek a reálií. Na závěr jsou shrnuty typy překladatelských posunů a jejich konkrétní příklady.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to create an annotated translation of a short story by Jan Józef Szczepański, Biskup jedzie przez morze from the collection Rafa (1974). The introductory section examines the specifics of literary translation and its theoretical concepts as described by J. Levý, A. Popovič, J. Vilikovský and others. The practical section presents the translation of the short story itself. Comments on the translation take into account the differences between Czech and Polish (false friends, syntactic differences) and the problem of translating idioms, cultural allusions and specifics. In conclusion, the types of translation shifts and specific examples are summarised.
