Inclusion of a pupil with selective mutism in a school environment

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je analýza způsobů, kterými se dítě s diagnózou selektivního mutismu zapojuje v prostředí mateřské školy. Práce je rozdělena na tři kapitoly, první dvě představují teoretickou část práce a třetí kapitolu tvoří praktická část. První kapitola teoretické části se zabývá vymezením selektivního mutismu, jeho diagnostikou a terapií. Druhá kapitola definuje roli rodiny, pedagoga a spolužáků a jejich možný vliv na zapojení dítěte se selektivním mutismem do společnosti. Součástí druhé kapitoly je přehledová studie, která slouží jako východisko pro výzkum. Praktická část je věnována kvalitativnímu výzkumnému šetření, které bylo realizováno metodami rozhovoru a případových studií. Výsledky výzkumného šetření jsou prezentovány v závěru práce a mimo to se tato část práce věnuje doporučením pro praxi a diskuzi výsledků, které jsou porovnány s relevantními zahraničními výzkumy.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the ways by which a child with a diagnosis of selective mutism is integrated in the kindergarten environment. The thesis is divided into three chapters, the first two are the theoretical part of the thesis and the third chapter is the empirical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part deals with the definition of selective mutism, its diagnosis, and therapy. The second chapter defines the role of the family, teacher and classmates and their possible influence on the social integration of a child with selective mutism. The second chapter includes a review that serves as a starting point for the research. In the empirical part a qualitative research design was conducted, which was carried out using interview and case study methods. The results of the research investigation are presented in the conclusion of the thesis and in addition, this part of the thesis includes recommendations for practice and discussion of the results, which are compared with relevant international studies.
