The construction of problem and help of social workers working with people suffering from mental illness

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou konstrukce problému a pomoci sociálních pracovníků při práci s lidmi s duševním onemocněním. V České republice prozatím bohužel příliš nefunguje provázanost a návaznost služeb pro ty, kteří prošli hospitalizací. Lidé trpící duševním onemocněním jsou zranitelnou cílovou skupinou, která se navíc potýká s řadou stereotypních předsudků a stigmat ve společnosti. Cílem mé práce je zjistit, jaká schémata a postupy využívají sociální pracovníci při práci s touto cílovou skupinou a jak si konstruují koncept problému a pomoci. Práce mimo jiné zkoumá také způsob, jakým pracovníci reflektují práci s klienty, jejich motivy pro práci s touto cílovou skupinou, vyjasňování hranic ve vztahu k nim a reflexi stereotypních představ v jednotlivých organizacích.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis is focused on topic of the construction of problem and help of social workers working with people suffering with mental disorders. Unfortunately, there is not a great consistency and continuity of services for those who have undergone hospitalization in the Czech republic. People suffering from mental disorder are vulnerable aim group that has to deal with a scale of stereotypes and stigmas in the society. The aim of my thesis is to find out, what kind of schemes and methods are being used by social workers working with such an aim group, and how do they construct the idea of problem and help. The thesis is also concerned about the way social workers reflect their practice, what are their motives for working in mental health practice, how do they manage to deal with boundaries in relationship with the klient and how (if) do they reflect some of their own stereotypes in organisations they come from.
