Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na rozdíly ve vnímání pojmu "dobro" mezi prezidenty USA a Ruska v mezinárodních vztazích po roce 2000 a jejich vliv na zahraniční politiku vůči Evropě. Práce analyzuje význam pojmu "dobro" v kontextu mezinárodních vztahů a zkoumá, jak se rozdílné vnímání tohoto pojmu projevuje v politických postojích a rozhodnutích prezidentů USA a Ruska vůči Evropě. Dále se práce zabývá vývojem vnímání pojmu "dobro" ve vztahu k Evropě od roku 2000 a identifikuje faktory, které ovlivňují tuto změnu. Teoretická část práce představuje sociální konstruktivismus jako teoretický rámec použitý v této studii. Vysvětluje, jak konstruktivistický přístup umožňuje zkoumat vnímání pojmu "dobro" v mezinárodních vztazích a konstrukci "dobrého světa". Práce se také zabývá historickými aspekty pojmu "dobro" a diskutuje o pozitivních a negativních aspektech konstruktivistického přístupu v této oblasti. Metodologie studie je popsána, zahrnující použití metod jako je kritická analýza diskurzu a komparace. V empirické části práce jsou analyzována prohlášení amerických a ruských prezidentů z let 2000 až současnosti. Na základě těchto prohlášení je vyvozeno vnímání pojmu "dobro" u prezidentů USA a Ruska a jejich politické postoje vůči Evropě. Cílem práce je porozumět rozdílům ve vnímání pojmu "dobro" mezi prezidenty USA a Ruska a jejich vlivu na zahraniční politiku vůči Evropě. Práce přispívá k lepšímu pochopení mezinárodních vztahů a jejich morálních aspektů. Závěrem práce dochází k závěru, že vnímání pojmu "dobro" v mezinárodních vztazích je subjektivní a dynamické a mění se v závislosti na záměrech a perspektivách jednotlivých aktérů. Prezident Putin se snaží posílit ruský vliv v Evropě a jeho politika je často charakterizována politickým ovlivňováním, hospodářskými manipulacemi a vojenskými intervencemi. Prezidenti USA se snaží prosazovat demokracii, lidská práva a hospodářskou spolupráci v evropských zemích a podporovat stabilitu a bezpečnost regionu. Zároveň je však patrné, že americký přístup často směřuje k ochraně vlastních zájmů a prosazování amerického vlivu. Diplomová práce se důkladně zabývá těmito rozdíly ve vnímání pojmu "dobro" a jejich vlivem na zahraniční politiku prezidentů USA a Ruska. Přináší tak přínos k lepšímu porozumění mezinárodním vztahům a roli morálních aspektů při formování politiky.

Abstract:

This master's thesis focuses on the differences in the perception of the concept of "good" between the presidents of the United States and Russia in international relations after 2000 and their impact on foreign policy towards Europe. The thesis analyzes the significance of the concept of "good" in the context of international relations and examines how the divergent understanding of this concept is reflected in the political positions and decisions of the US and Russian presidents towards Europe. Furthermore, the thesis explores the evolution of the perception of the concept of "good" in relation to Europe since 2000 and identifies the factors influencing this change. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces social constructivism as the theoretical framework employed in this study. It explains how the constructivist approach allows for the examination of the perception of the concept of "good" in international relations and the construction of a "good world." The thesis also addresses the historical aspects of the concept of "good" and discusses the positive and negative aspects of the constructivist approach in this area. The methodology of the study is described, including the use of methods such as critical discourse analysis and comparison. The empirical part of the thesis analyzes the statements of US and Russian presidents from 2000 to the present. Based on these statements, the perception of the concept of "good" by the US and Russian presidents and their political attitudes towards Europe are inferred. The aim of the thesis is to understand the differences in the perception of the concept of "good" between the presidents of the United States and Russia and their influence on foreign policy towards Europe. The thesis contributes to a better understanding of international relations and their moral aspects. In conclusion, the thesis finds that the perception of the concept of "good" in international relations is subjective and dynamic, varying depending on the intentions and perspectives of individual actors. President Putin seeks to strengthen Russian influence in Europe, and his policy is often characterized by political influence, economic manipulation, and military interventions. US presidents strive to promote democracy, human rights, and economic cooperation in European countries while supporting stability and security in the region. However, it is also evident that the US approach often aims to protect its own interests and promote American influence. This master's thesis thoroughly examines these differences in the perception of the concept of "good" and their impact on the foreign policy of the US and Russian presidents. It contributes to a better understanding of international relations and the role of moral aspects in shaping policies.
