Abstract:

Anotace (disertační práce je napsána v českém a francouzském jazyce) Disertační práce „Klavírní dílo Jana Václava Hugo Voříška (1791 – 1825) v kontextu dobové tvorby a jeho interpretace dnes“ ukazuje Voříškovo sólové klavírní dílo z pohledu interpreta. Přestože Voříškovo klavírní dílo nepatří ke stěžejnímu repertoáru, jeho autorovi je nutné přiznat v dějinách hudby nezastupitelnou roli: je tvůrcem žánru lyrického kusu impromptu a jeho vizionářský hudební styl má množství kvalit. Jeho hudba, je-li interpretována citlivě a s odpovídajícím interpretačním zázemím, má zřetelný potenciál oslovit dnešního posluchače. Tato disertační práce si klade za cíl vyplnit tři mezery: věnovat se bádání na poli teorie interpretace, vytvořit komentovanou kritickou edici a aplikovat výzkum v praxi realizací nahrávky. Textová část nabízí výsledky výzkumu a možnosti interpretace staré hudby dnes. Skladatelovo hudební zázemí je nastíněno v úvodní kapitole. První část zpracovává jeho životopisné údaje, druhá představuje čtyři osobnosti, které jej umělecky formovaly. Jsou jimi skladatelův otec Václav Voříšek, Matěj Sojka, Václav Jan Tomášek a Johann Nepomuk Hummel. V této i několika dalších kapitolách se věnujeme pedagogickému odkazu J. N. Hummela formulovanému v jeho Klavírní škole. Na základě čtyř vybraných interpretačních oblastí Hummelovy Školy je postavena druhá kapitola, Interpretace. Hlavními tématy jsou výběr tempa a práce s barvou, respektive pedalizace a registrace. Tyto dvě podkapitoly jsou doplněny informacemi o dobovém ladícím systému a o improvizaci. Všechny jmenované problémy jsou ilustrovány na konkrétních Voříškových dílech. Třetí, nejobsáhlejší kapitola představuje podrobně jednotlivé Voříškovy skladby pro sólový klavír. U každého opusu je pro rozbor vybráno kritérium, které nejvýrazněji charakterizuje daný typ skladby. Dostáváme se tedy znovu k otázce tempa, k dobově rozšířeným i Voříškovým osobním charakteristikám tónin, problému pedalizace nebo volného improvizačního stylu. Práce je doplněna dvěma praktickými přílohami. Protože dnes vlastně není k dispozici kompletní novodobé vydání Voříškova díla v kvalitě odpovídající současným potřebám, vznikl návrh revize stávajícího vydání, která by edici přiblížila jak původním pramenům, tak především potřebám dnešní historicky poučené interpretace. Návrh změn v edici nejméně vydávaného svazku, Dvanácti Rapsodií, op. 1 (Příloha 1), byl zpracován po domluvě s vydavatelstvím Editio Bärenreiter Praha. Spočívá v návratu k pramenům a vedle tabulek různočtení ke každé z dvanácti Rapsodií představuje možnou interpretaci úhozových znamének, která jsou v moderních edicích hudby přelomu 18. a 19. století často zaměňována. Zvukový záznam (Příloha 2) doplňuje výběr Voříškových děl vydaných v roce 2004 na CD v řadě Jeunes Solistes du Conservatoire National Supérieur de la Musique et de Danse de Paris (Sonáta op. 20, Le Désir, op. 3 et Le Plaisir, op. 4). Ukazuje interpretaci opřenou o studium hudebních pramenů a dobové praxe na nástroji blízkém době vzniku interpretovaných děl. Nahrávka vznikla pro Český Rozhlas a je zrealizována na dvou kopiích historických nástrojů, kladívkových klavírech z dílny Paula McNultyho: pětiapůloktávovém klavíru podle originálu Walter&Sohn z roku 1805 a šestiapůloktávovém klavíru podle originálu Graf okolo roku 1830. Snahou tvůrčího přístupu bylo uplatnit v interpretaci výsledky teoretického bádání, popsaného ve druhé a třetí kapitole práce.

Abstract:

Annotation (The dissertation is written in Czech and French) The present thesis „The work of Jan Václav Hugo Voříšek (1791 – 1825) in the context of the period production and his interpretation today” shows the solo piano work of Voříšek from the interpreter´s point of view. Although Voříšek´s piano work does not belong to the mainstream reperoire, it is necessary to admit his indispensable role in the music history: being the creator of the genre impromptu, his visionary musical style has many qualities. His music has a great potential to speak to nowaday´s public, if well interpreted. This thesis wishes to fill three gaps in the existing treatment of the subject: the research in the field of the theory of interpretation, the comented critical edition and the work of the applied research – a complete recording on an instrument suitable to the repertoire. The text offers the results of the research and shows the possibilities of today´s interpretation of early music. The musical background of the composer is presented in the first chapter. Its first part treats his biography, the second one presents four personalities who artistically formed the composer. These were the composer´s father, Václav Voříšek, then Matěj Sojka, Václav Jan Tomášek and Johann Nepomuk Hummel. Here, as well as later, the pedagogical heritage of J. N. Hummel is treated, as it is expressed in his Piano Method. The second chapter, Interpretation, is based on a choice of four fields of interpretation taken from the Hummel´s textbook. The main themes are the choice of the tempo, and the pedalisation, registration and the question of the colour. These two subchapters are completed with information on the period tuning systém and on improvisation. All these issues are illustrated on particular Voříšek´s compositions. The third chapter presents Voříšek´s solo piano pieces in detail. Each opus is analysed according to the principle characteristic for a given type of piece. The questions of the tempo, affective key characteristics formulated by Voříšek himself or by other period theoreticians, the pedalisation or the free style are treated again, related to Voříšek´s music. The thesis is completed with two practical annexes. Since there is no appropriate edition of Voříšek´s works responding to today´s needs, the suggestion of changes in the existing edition occured. Such revision would aproach the score not only to the sources, but also to the needs of the historically informed interpretation. The project of the revision of the least edited volume, the Twelve Rapsodies, op. 1 (Annexe 1) was realised in cooperation with the Editio Bärenreiter Praha. It goes back to the sources and, apart from the tables of differences in each of the Rapsodies, it gives an interpretation to the indications of touch, often confused in modern editions of the 18th and early 19th century music. The recording (Annexe 2) completes the selection already edited on the CD in the Paris Conservatory´s series Jeunes Solistes du CNSMDP made in 2004 (Sonate op. 20, Le Désir, op. 3 et Le Plaisir, op. 4), and shows an interpretation based on a study of the musical sources and of the period practise, on an instrument close to the time of the genesis of the works performed. This recording was made for the Czech Radio on two copies of fortepianos by Paul McNulty, the five-and-half octave piano after Anton Walter&Sohn from 1805 and the six-and-half octave piano after Conrad Graf from around 1830. The aim was to apply the results of the theoretical research presented in the second and the third chapters of this thesis in the interpretation.
