Ethics codex ČSOB analysis

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje analýze etického kodexu ČSOB, která má poukázat především na chyby ve vypracování tohoto kodexu. Teoretická část práce definuje, co je to podnikatelská etika. Specifikuje jakými vývojovými fázemi morálního rozvoje při integraci etiky do firemního řízení mohou firmy procházet. Dále popisuje ekonomické přínosy dodržování podnikatelské etiky a objasňuje vztah etiky a společenské odpovědnosti firem. V závěru pak sumarizuje pravidla a zásady, které by měly být při tvorbě kodexu dodržovány. Aplikační část této diplomové práce podrobuje etický kodex ČSOB podrobné analýze, která je zaměřena především na nedostatky tohoto kodexu oslabující jeho účinnost. U každého nalezeného nedostatku uvádí i doporučení, jak ho s maximální efektivností odstranit. Dále i rozebírá případný negativní vliv těchto slabin analyzovaného kodexu na zaměstnance či klienta ČSOB.

Abstract:

This Thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the Ethical Code of ČSOB and it should mainly point out the mistakes in elaboration of this Code. The theoretical part of the Thesis defines business ethics. It specifies the developmental stages of moral development through which the companies have to go when integrating ethics into the corporate governance. It also describes the economic benefits of adherence to business ethics and clarifies the relation between ethics and corporate social responsibility. In conclusion, the Thesis summarizes the rules and principles which should be observed when creating the Code. The application part of this Thesis puts the Ethical Code of ČSOB through the detailed analysis which is primarily focused on the shortcomings of the Code weakening its effectiveness. For each discovered shortcoming it also gives a recommendation how the shortcoming can be removed. It also analyses a possible negative impact of these shortcomings of the Code on an employee or client of ČSOB.
