Usability of chironomids from limnic sediments of palaeolakes for reconstruction of postglacial climate changes

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá možnostmi rekonstrukce postglaciálního vývoje klimatu pomocí zbytků hlavových kapsul pakomárovitých v sedimentech rašeliniště Hybkaňa, které se nachází na východě Slovenska v CHKO Vihorlat. Z této lokality byl odebrán vrt o hloubce přes 11 metrů, ve kterém byl proveden pilotní rozbor pakomářích společenstev v deseti vrstvách jezerního sedimentu, vybraných podle makroskopických změn jeho charakteru. Celkem jsem ve vybraných zpracovaných vzorcích našla 695 pakomárů, kteří byli determinováni do 40 taxonů. Výsledky naznačují, že tři nejhlubší vrstvy (1085 – 1090, 1040 – 1045 a 1015 – 1020 cm) pravděpodobně zachycují chladné období pozdního glaciálu, jelikož v nich převažují chladnomilné taxony Corynocera ambiqua-type, Tanytarsus lugens-type a Derotanypus sp.. Následně je ve vyšších vrstvách patrný ústup chladnomilných druhů a nástup taxonů teplomilných (např. Glyptotendipes pallens-type, Procladius sp.) a také fytofilních taxonů (např. Cricotopus cylindraeus-type, Paratanytarsus penicillatus-type). Ve středních vrstvách vrtu (720 – 725, 705 – 710, 540 – 545 a 530 – 535 cm) byly nalezeny i taxony tekoucích vod (Pagastiella sp., Einfeldia natchitocheae-type), což by mohlo naznačovat existenci přítoků jezera. Ty už se nevyskytovaly v nejsvrchnější vrstvě (340 – 345 cm), v níž se naopak zvýšilo zastoupení fytofilních taxonů (Tanytarsus mendax-type). Tato vrstva tedy pravděpodobně zachycuje počátek zazemňování jezera.

Abstract:

This study deals with usability of chironomids head capsules from sediments of palaeolake Hybkaňa – for reconstruction of postglacial climate changes. The site is situated on the east of Slovakia in CHKO Vihorlat. The core was taken from depth of over 11 meters. I do pilot study of chironomids assemblages in ten layers of limnic sediment, selected according to macroscopic changes in sediment character. Overall I found in selected samples 695 chironomids, that were determinated into 40 taxons. The result indicates, that the deepest layers (1085 – 1090, 1040 – 1045, 1015 – 1020 cm) probably capture cold late glacial period, because there are more cryophilic taxons Corynocera ambiqua-type, Tanytarsus lugens-type a Derotanypus sp.. In higher layers we can observe decrease of cryophilic species and increase of thermophilic taxons (for example Glyptotendipes pallens-type, Paratanytarsus penicillatus-type). In intermediate layers of the core (720 – 725, 705 – 710, 540 – 545, 530 – 535 cm) there were found taxons from lentic watter (Pagastiella sp., Einfeldia natchitocheae-type), that could suggest, that the lake had some tributaries. These taxons weren’t found in uppermost layer (340 – 345 cm), on the otherside the representation of fytophilic taxons (Tanytarsus mendax-type) increases. This layer probably indicates beginning of filling up of the palaeolake.
