Analysis of labour market participation of people aged 65+ in 2015–2020 in the Liberec Region, Hradec Králové Region and Prague

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem a následnou komparací jednotlivých determinantů ovlivňujících setrvání osob starších 65 let na trhu práce, ve vybraných krajích České republiky v letech 2015–2020. Mezi vybrané kraje patří kraj Liberecký, Královehradecký a hlavní město Praha. Mezi zkoumané ukazatele patří mimo jiné nejvyšší dosažené vzdělání jedinců v důchodovém věku, koncentrace odvětví v daném kraji, vývoj počtu uchazečů registrovaných na Úřadu práce ČR či pobírání důchodových dávek. Hlavními tématy teoretické části jsou diskriminace na trhu práce, problematika ageismu a nestandardní formy zaměstnání. V této praktické části je stěžejním ukazatelem nejvyšší dosažené vzdělání starších osob figurujících v daném období na trhu práce, současně s koncentrací odvětví v daném kraji. Pomocí komparace jednotlivých krajů, provedené v praktické části, je možné prokázat souvislost mezi vzděláním jedince a koncentrací odvětví v kraji. Na vývoji počtu osob pobírajících poměrné starobní důchody lze prokázat také rostoucí trend počtu osob mající zájem o překlenování náročné životní etapy. Stěžejní je však také vztah mezi výší starobního důchodu a mzdou daného jedince získávanou na trhu práce. Rozdíl mezi výše zmíněnými příjmy může mít výrazný vliv na životní úroveň jedince samotného či i na celkové příjmy domácnosti.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the description and subsequent comparison of individual determinants influencing the persistence of people over 65 in the labour market in selected regions of the Czech Republic in 2015-2020. The selected regions include the Liberec Region, the Hradec Králové Region, and the Capital City of Czech Republic Prague. The analysed indicators include, among others, the highest educational attainment of individuals of retirement age, the concentration of industries in a particular region, the trend in the number of applicants registered at the Úřad práce ČR (Labour Office of the Czech Republic) or the receiving of pension benefits. The main topics of the theoretical part are discrimination on the labour market, ageism, and non-standard forms of employment. In this part, the key indicator is the highest educational attainment of older workers together with the concentration of the sector in the region. Based on the region-by-region comparisons made in the practical section, it is possible to demonstrate the relationship between an individual's education and the concentration of industries in a region. Proportionate retirement pensions show a growing interest in smoother transitions into retirement. However, the relationship between the amount of the old-age pension and the wages earned by the individual in the labour market is also crucial. The difference between the above-mentioned incomes can have a significant impact on the individual's standard of living or even on total household income.
