Causes of homelessness among the residents at The Samaritan Shelter in Ústí nad Labem

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá mapováním příčin bezdomovectví u klientů Azylového domu Samaritán v Ústí nad Labem. V první části je uveden souhrn poznatků k problematice bezdomovectví s využitím dostupné odborné literatury. Je zde vymezen pojem bezdomovectví jako fenomén nejen dnešní doby, dále jsou definovány typy bezdomovectví dle různých kritérií a najdeme zde rovněž informace o legislativní úpravě bezdomovectví v českém právním řádu a sociálních službách pro bezdomovce. Dále práce pojednává o příčinách, které přivedou člověka do situace bez domova. V práci jsou rozpracovány jednotlivé determinanty vzniku bezdomovectví, mimo jiné s přihlédnutím k věku nebo genderu bezdomovců. Informace a závěry uvedené v této práci, čerpané z odborné literatury, byly ověřeny provedeným šetřením u klientů Azylového domu Samaritán v Ústí nad Labem, jež byl realizován metodou dotazování za pomoci polostandardizovaných dotazníků. Dalším zdrojem informací byla analýza dokumentů s využitím počítačové databáze azylového domu, konkrétně bylo čerpáno ze sociálních anamnéz klientů.

Abstract:

This thesis maps causes of homelessness of the clients of Asylum house Samaritán in Ústí nad Labem. There is a summary of findings connected with homelessness issue with the use of available expert literature in the first part. Notion of homelessness is defined here as a phenomenon not only of the present time, in addition there are defined types of homelessness according to various criterias and information about legislative regulation of homelessness in the Czech rule of law and social services for homeless people. Moreover the thesis is about causes which bring people into a situation of being without home. In the thesis there are individual determinants of creation of homelessness connected with age or gender of homeless people among other things. Information and conclusions mentioned in the thesis, taken of expert literature, are verified by conducted research about the clients of Asylum house Samaritán in Ústí nad Labem and the research is realized by a method of questioning with the help of semi-standardized questionnares. Another source of information is an analysis of documents in which computer database of asylum house is used, specifically information are taken from social anamnesis of the clients.
