Expected work assignments of school assistants in Czech educational system

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá uplatněním školních asistentů v českém vzdělávacím systému. Pozornost nejprve věnujeme teoretickým východiskům problematiky inkluze v kontextu vzdělávání opřeným o dokument Index inkluze. Uvádíme základní charakteristiku pozic školního asistenta a asistenta pedagoga a věnujeme pozornost jejich legislativnímu ukotvení, potřebné kvalifikaci a předepsané náplni práce. Pozornost je dále věnována žákům se sociálním znevýhodněním, pro které je školní asistent určen. Výzkumným rámcem byl projekt Cesty k inkluzi (OP VVV) realizovaný FPE ZČU (2016 - 2019). Výzkumného šetření s cílem provést evaluaci působení osob v rolích školních asistentů se účastnilo 7 respondentů. Prostřednictvím polostrukturovaného rozhovoru doplněného analýzou dokumentů se respondenti vyjadřovali k problematice uplatnění školních asistentů ve vybraných základních školách Plzeňského kraje. Z výsledků výzkumného šetření vyplývá, že potenciál školních asistentů byl v oblasti organizační a administrativní podpory přínosem. Nicméně z hlediska nastavené náplně práce a možného uplatnění školních asistentů na poli podpory žáků se SVP byl jejich potenciál naplněn pouze částečně.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the expected work assignments of school assistants in Czech educational system. We first pay attention to the theoretical basis of the issue of inclusion in the context of education based on the Inclusion Index document. We present the basic characteristics of the positions of school assistant and teaching assistant and pay attention to their legislative anchoring, the necessary qualification and the prescribed scope of work. Attention is further oriented towards students with social disadvantages, for whom the school assistant is primarily intended. The research framework was the Cesty k inkluzi (OP VVV) project implemented by the FPE UWB (2016 - 2019). Seven respondents participated in the research survey with the aim of evaluating the activities of persons in the roles of school assistants. Through a semi-structured interview supplemented by an analysis of documents, respondents commented on the issue of the expected work assignments of school assistants in selected primary schools in the Pilsen Region. The results of the research survey show that the potential of school assistants was a benefit in the field of organizational and administrative support. However, in terms of the set scope of work and the possible application of school assistants in the field of support for pupils with SEN, their potential was only partially fulfilled.
