Pain assessment in children

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na hodnocení bolesti u dětí. Teoretická část se zabývá obecně problematikou bolesti, včetně historického kontextu, popisuje možnosti hodnocení bolesti, zmiňuje hodnotící škály, jejich spolehlivost a původ. Současně popisuje možnosti léčby bolesti u dětí, jak nefarmakologickou, tak i farmakologickou. V praktické části jsou formulovány cíle, úkoly práce, proveden sběr dat, na jehož základě jsou analyzovány výsledky šetření. Hlavním cílem práce je přispět k řešení problematiky hodnocení bolesti v dětském věku a zjistit, jak sestry v nemocničním zařízení hodnotí bolest u dětí. Dílčí cíle jsou pak zaměřeny na volbu způsobu hodnocení bolesti i na detekci hodnocení bolesti v návaznosti na věk pacienta. Výsledky praktické části jsou následně přehledně shrnuty a vzájemně porovnány. Práce závěrem shrnuje tématiku hodnocení bolesti u dětí s možným praktickým využitím ve zdravotnické praxi.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the assessment of pain in children. The theoretical part deals with the general problem of pain, including the historical context, describes the possibilities of pain assessment, mentions rating scales, their reliability and origin. At the same time, it describes the possibilities of treating pain in children, how non-pharmacological as well as pharmacological. In the practical part are formuled the goals and tasks of the thesis, data collection is carried out, on which they are based on analyzed survey results. The main goal of the thesis is to contribute to solving the problem of pain assessment in childhood and find out how nurses in a hospital setting assess pain in children. Sub-goals are focused on the choice of pain assessment method and on the detection of pain assessment in relation to age the patient. The results of the practical part are clearly summarized and compared with each other. The bachelor's thesis in conclusion, it summarizes the topic of pain assessment in children with possible practical use in healthcare practice.
