The influence of weather on visitor satisfaction in South Moravia

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zkoumáním vlivu počasí na celkovou spokojenost návštěvníků na Jižní Moravě, která je jedním z nejnavštěvovanějších regionů v České republice a významně se podílí na cestovním ruchu. Spokojenost s destinací je ovlivněna jednak endogenními faktory, ale také faktory exogenními, které jsou zcela mimo kontrolu manažerů destinace. Jedním z těchto exogenních faktorů je právě počasí. K identifikaci jeho vlivu na celkovou spokojenost návštěvníků bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření. Průzkum probíhal face-to-face ve všech pěti turistických oblastech (Slovácko, Brno a okolí, Lednicko-valtický areál, Moravský kras a Znojemsko a Podyjí) v období červen až září roku 2022. V každé z oblastí bylo nasbíráno okolo 350 rozhovorů a celkový soubor činil 1913 odpovědí. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit vliv počasí na spokojenost návštěvníků destinace Jižní Morava v kontextu demografických profilů. Výsledky výzkumu prokázaly největší vliv u žen ve věku 41-55 let, které na Jižní Moravu jezdí za účelem dovolené, trávení volného času a relaxace. Ke zjištění tohoto vlivu byl použit Spearmanův korelační koeficient.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis investigates the influence of weather on the overall satisfaction of visitors in South Moravia, which is one of the most visited regions in the Czech Republic and contributes significantly to tourism. Destination satisfaction is influenced by endogenous factors, but also by exogenous factors that are completely beyond the control of destination managers. One of these exogenous factors is the weather. A questionnaire survey was conducted to identify its influence on overall visitor satisfaction. The survey was carried out face-to-face in all five tourist areas (Slovácko, Brno and surroundings, Lednice-valtice area, Moravian Karst and Znojmo and Podyjí) in the period from June to September 2022. Around 350 interviews were collected in each of the areas and the total sample amounted to 1913 responses. The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of weather on the satisfaction of visitors to the destination South Moravia in the context of demographic profiles. The results of the research showed the greatest influence on women aged 41-55 years who visit South Moravia for holidays, rest and relaxation. The analysis was conducted using Spearman's correlation coefficient to determine the influence.
