Torsional Stiffness Snalysis of the Formula Student Frame

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá stručnou rešerší v oblasti měření torzní tuhosti vozidel, zejména pak trubkových rámů vozidel Formule Student. Je stručně probrán návrh a podoba rámů z minulých let. U těchto rámů je popsáno měření jejich torzní tuhostí, které proběhlo ve spolupráci s firmou VÚTS, a.s., a diskutovány výsledky. Následuje popis tvorby MKP modelů a vlastní tvorba v softwaru Ansys Mechanical. V závěru jsou porovnány výsledky měření a simulací, jednotlivé rámy, a je zohledněna vhodnost použití této metodiky přinávrhu nových rámů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with a brief research in the field of measuring the torsional stiffness of vehicles, especially the tubular frames of Formula Student vehicles. The design and appearance of frames from past years is briefly discussed. For the frames, the measurement of their torsional stiffness, which took place in cooperation with the company VÚTS, a.s., is described, and the results are discussed. The following is a description of the creation of FEM models and their creation in the Ansys Mechanical software. In the conclusion, there are compared the results of measurements and simulations, individual frames and the appropriateness of using this methodology in the design of new frames is taken into account.
