Ve své dizertační práci se zabývám prostředky vyjadřování jistotní (epistémické) modality v klasické řečtině. Vycházím především z teorie M. Grepla (K podstatě modálnosti: 1973, Komunikativně pragmatické aspekty výpovědi: 1979) a Palmera (Mood and Modality: 1986). Abstract:
The aim of this study is to characterize the ways of expressing the so-called epistemic modality in Classical Greek. This type of modality includes every language device by which the speaker signifies his attitude towards whether the statement he says is true or untrue.
