Current features of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in soouthern Africa

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce podrobně analyzuje současnou epidemii HIV/AIDS v regionu jižní Afrika. Začíná úvodem do problematiky jižní Afriky, představuje historický vývoj, přenos viru, léčbu a prevenci HIV/AIDS. Dále se jedná o faktory, které patří k šíření epidemie, jako jsou podvýživa, onemocnění a sexuálně přenosné choroby. Demografická část práce poskytuje podrobný pohled na věkovou strukturu, porodnost, plodnost, úmrtnost a migraci v regionu jižní Afrika. Další část se věnuje konkrétním aspektům epidemie, včetně vývoje a struktury postiženého obyvatelstva, s důrazem na úmrtnost podle věku a situaci dětí žijících s HIV/AIDS. V závěru práce jsou analyzovány politicko-ekonomické a sociokulturní faktory ovlivňující rozsah epidemie v regionu jižní Afrika. Tato práce poskytuje komplexní pohled do současné situace, což může být klíčové pro navrhování a implementaci účinných opatření v boji proti HIV/AIDS.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis closely analyzes the current HIV/AIDS epidemic in the South Africa region. It begins with an introduction to the issue of Southern Africa, presenting the historical development, transmission of the virus, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. Furthermore, these factors include the spread of epidemics such as malnutrition, diseases and sexually transmitted diseases. The demographic part of the work provides a detailed look at the age structure, fertility, mortality and migration in the South Africa region. Another section addresses specific aspects of the epidemic, including the development and structure of the affected population, with an emphasis on mortality by age and the situation of children living with HIV/AIDS. The conclusion of the work analyzes political-economic and sociocultural factors influencing the scale of the epidemic in the South Africa region. This work provides a comprehensive insight into the current situation, which can be crucial in the design and implementation of effective measures in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
