The issue of national versus international banking supervision within eurozone

Abstract:

This diploma theses deals with question of national versus multinational banking supervision. In the frame of its limited extent it analyses the policies that are applicable for Eurozone as well as for SR. This theses is divided into four individual chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the explanation of banking supervision terms and regulation in general. There are listed the reasons of banking supervision, classification of banking supervision systems and its legislation arrangement. The second chapter analyses regulation policies BAZEL. It also introduces proposed policies under the name BAZEL II. The third chapter deals with financial crisis, with its impact on banking supervision at national and multinational level as well as it describes reforms within regulation of EU financial institutions. The last chapter is focused on development tendencies of regulation policies, most of all, policies related with implementation of new Basel recommendation BAZEL III.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou národného verzus nadnárodného bankového dohľadu a analyzuje opatrenia, ktoré je možné aplikovať pre eurozónu a pre SR v obmedzenom rozsahu diplomovej práce a je rozdelená do štyroch samostatných kapitol. Prvá kapitola je venovaná vysvetleniu pojmov dohľadu a regulácie všeobecne, sú v nej uvedené dôvody bankového dohľadu, klasifikácia systémov bankového dohľadu a jeho legislatívna úprava. Druhá kapitola analyzuje regulačné opatrenie BAZEL a predstavuje opatrenie pod názvom BAZEL II. Tretia kapitola sa zaoberá finančnou krízou, jej dopadom na bankový dohľad na národnej i nadnárodnej úrovni a popisuje reformy v regulácii finančných inštitúcii v EÚ. Posledná kapitola je zameraná na tendencie vývoja nových regulačných opatrení, predovšetkým v súvislosti s implementáciou nového bazilejského odporučenia BAZEL III.
