Jak EU, tak Čína nejsou schopny samy pokrýt poptávku po ropě a zemním plynu z domácích zdrojů. Proto usilují o zajištění dodávek těchto surovin ze zahraničí, přičemž kaspický region disponuje významnými zásobami ropy a zemního plynu a oba aktéři mají zájem rozvíjet spolupráci v energetické oblasti se zeměmi daného regionu. Abstract:
EU and China are not self-sufficient in securing oil and gas for their domestic needs. They have to secure these sources from abroad. The Caspian region possesses significant resources of oil and gas. That is why both EU and China are interested in development of energy cooperation with countries of the region.
