Current Trends in Business Intelligence

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na identifikaci a analýzu současných trendů v business intelligence. Cílem práce je analyzovat aktuální trendy a demonstrovat, které z těchto trendů již využívá softwarové řešení Power BI od společnosti Microsoft a jak by mohly být nápomocny při zpracování dat o odvysílaných pořadech v televizní společnosti.Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části se zabývám výběrem a analýzou konkrétních trendů, zdůvodňuji výběr Power BI pro další práci a představuji architekturu Power BI. V praktické části se věnuji analýze a transformaci dat a také demonstruji pomoc jednotlivých trendů při transformaci a pro lepší pochopení dat.Přínosy této práce jsou ve vytvoření analytického dokumentu, který čtenáře seznamuje se současnými trendy v BI a jejich pomocí při zpracování dat v televizní společnosti, ale také ve vytvoření podkladu pro další uživatele Power BI, jak snadno transformovat data a jak využít některé ze současných trendů v praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on identification and analyze of current trends in business intelligence. The aim is to have deeper view on these trends and demonstrate which of them are being used by Microsoft Power BI and how these could be helpful for data processing in a TV broadcasting company.The thesis is structured into following parts. In the first, theoretical one, current trends are identified and analyzed. In this part I am also explaining my choice of Power BI. The Power BI architecture is described at the end of this section as well. The second part, which is practical one, is focused on a real television data transformation and demonstration of trends by using Power BI.The thesis has following goal. It explains current trends in business intelligence to a reader and then it consecutively shows how these trends can be used to make data processing easier. It should help other Power BI users with the data transformation and leveraging of current trend benefits.
