Insurance fraud

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou pojistných podvodů na území České republiky. Teoretická část definuje samotný pojem pojistný podvod z pohledu České asociace pojišťoven a české legislativy. Dále se zaměřuje na členění pojistných podvodů a zejména pak na příčiny páchání podvodů včetně vlivu makroekonomických veličin. Empirická část analyzuje pojistné podvody z hlediska statistického a ekonometrického. Statistická analýza zkoumá vývoj podvodů v letech 2007–2021 v rámci počtu šetřených případů a prokázané výše pojistných podvodů. Výstupem ekonometrické analýzy jsou dva modely odhadnuté pomocí programu Gretl, které jsou následně použity pro ex post predikci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of insurance fraud in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines the term insurance fraud within the legislative framework as well as The Czech Insurance Association. It also focuses on explanation of different types of insurance fraud and causes of committing fraud including the influence of macroeconomic variables. Empirical section analyses insurance fraud in terms of statistics and econometrics. Statistical analysis examines the evolution of number of investigated cases and value of detected insurance frauds in 2007–2021. The output of econometric analysis are two models estimated in Gretl, which are then used for an ex–post prediction.
