Foreigners on the labor market in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cizinci jsou dnes již nedílnou součástí trhu práce v České republice, ať už sem migrují z ekonomických, politických či jiných důvodů. Cílem bakalářské práce je zanalyzovat jak jejich přítomnost a prostorové rozmístění v rámci ČR, tak také jejich konkrétnější působení v okrese Tachov. Sledováni byli státní příslušníci Ukrajiny, Slovenska, Rumunska, Bulharska a Polska (nejčastější ekonomicky aktivní cizinci v ČR), dále Německa a Rakouska (zbylé sousední státy) a Vietnamu (velké množství živnostníků). V rámci výzkumu byla využita data státních institucí, jako je Český statistický úřad, Ministerstvo práce a sociálních věcí ČR (zvláště Úřad práce ČR) či Ministerstvo průmyslu a obchodu ČR. V rámci ČR poté byly pomocí mapových výstupů specifikovány regiony, ve kterých jsou cizinci nejčastěji ekonomicky aktivní. V případě okresu Tachov byli specifikováni největší zaměstnavatelé se sídlem v tomto okrese, dále byly mj. identifikovány profese, do kterých v roce 2022 cizinci nejčastěji nastupovali. Nejčastěji jsou cizinci v rámci ČR ekonomicky aktivní v příhraničních regionech či ekonomicky silných regionech s významným zaměstnavatelem. Jedním z těchto regionů je i okres Tachov, v rámci kterého bylo zjištěno, že zde cizinci v roce 2022 nejčastěji nastupovali na pozice dělnického charakteru.

Abstract:

Today, foreigners are an integral part of the labor market in the Czech Republic, whether they migrate here for economic, political or other reasons. In this bachelor's thesis, the aim is to analyze both their presence and spatial distribution within the Czech Republic, as well as their more specific action in the Tachov district. Nationals of Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland (the most common economically active foreigners in the Czech Republic), as well as Germany and Austria (the remaining neighboring states) and Vietnam (a large number of self-employed persons) were monitored. As part of the research, data from state institutions such as the Czech Statistical Office, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic (especially the Labor Office of the Czech Republic) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic were used. Within the Czech Republic, the regions in which foreigners are most often economically active were specified using map outputs. In the case of the Tachov district, the largest employers based in this district were specified, and the professions in which foreigners most often entered in 2022 were also identified. Most often, foreigners within the Czech Republic are economically active in border regions or economically strong regions with a significant employer. One of these regions is the Tachov district, within which it was found that in 2022 foreigners most often took up positions of a blue-collar nature.
