Abstract:

Studie důkladně zkoumají roli obchodní otevřenosti při ovlivňování hospodářského růstu v Ghaně. Pro odhad vícerozměrného rámcového modelu používá data časových řad, která pokrývají období 1993 až 2017 a metodu obyčejných nejmenších čtverců a Gretl se pou-žívá jako statistický nástroj pro analýzu dat. Závislou proměnnou pro studii je ekonomic-ký růst, který se měří v reálném hrubém domácím produktu (tj. HDP); nezávislou pro-měnnou je obchodní otevřenost, která se měří jako procentuální podíl obchodu (součet dovozu a vývozu) ve vztahu k hrubému domácímu produktu (tj. poměr součtu dovozu a vývozu k HDP) a kontrolních proměnných což jsou přímé zahraniční investice měřené z hlediska čistého přílivu FDI (PZI) do ekonomiky a zahraniční pomoci. Datový soubor pro výzkumnou práci pochází z ukazatelů vývoje světové banky. Výsledek potvrdil, že ote-vřenost obchodu má pozitivní a významný dopad nebo dopad na hospodářský růst v Ghaně. Tento výsledek je v souladu s výsledkem předních vědců (např. Georgios a kol. (2003), Zarra-Nezhad a kol., (2014) a další), kteří potvrdili pozitivní otevřenost obchodu a spojitost nebo hypotézu hospodářského růstu. Výsledek navíc potvrdil, že přímé zahra-niční investice mají také pozitivní a významné spojení s ghanským hospodářským růstem. Zjištění však potvrdilo, že zahraniční podpora nemá významný dopad na hospodářský růst.

The studies thoroughly investigate the role of trade openness in influencing economic growth in Ghana. It uses a time series data that covers a period of 1993 to 2017 and Ordi-nary Least Square Method to estimate the multivariate framework model and Gretl is used as a statistical tool for the data analysis. the dependent variable for the study is the eco-nomic growth which is measured in terms of the real gross domestic product (i.e GDP); the independent variable is the trade openness which is measured in terms of the percent-age share of the trade (sum of import and export) in relative to the gross domestic product (i.e. the ratio of sum of import and export to GDP) and the control variables which is the foreign direct investment measured in terms of net inflow of FDI into the economy and the foreign aid. The dataset for the research work is sourced from the world bank devel-opment indicators. The result confirmed that the trade openness has a positive and signifi-cant impact or effects on the Ghanaian economic growth. This result is in line with the result of leading researchers (e.g. Georgios et al (2003), Zarra-Nezhad et al., (2014) and others) that confirmed positive trade openness and economic growth nexus or hypothesis. In addition, the result also confirmed that the foreign direct investment also has a positive and significant association with the Ghanaian economic growth. However, the finding confirmed that the foreign aid has no significant effects on the economic growth.
