The capital structure of small and medium-sized enterprises

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na kapitálovou strukturu malých a středních podniků. Zvláště od dob finanční krize, která vznikla v roce 2007, je nutné, aby podniky kontinuálně prováděly finanční analýzu podniku, hlavně aby se zaměřily na kapitálovou strukturu, a tak byly schopné posoudit zdraví podniku a schopnost platit své závazky. Cílem práce je provést finanční analýzu podniku Hollandia Karlovy Vary a.s., vysvětlit základní pojmy, provést analýzu absolutních hodnot rozvahy, vypočítat poměrové ukazatele rentability, zadluženosti, likvidity. Dále zhodnotit strukturu kapitálu pomocí bilančních pravidel, vypočítat bod indiference, finanční páku, průměrné vážené náklady kapitálu (WACC) a odhadnut náklad na vlastní kapitál pomocí stavebnicového modelu INFA. V práci bude zkoumán poměr zadlužení dle jednotlivých teorií, např. dle klasické teorie, teorie hierarchického pořádku, kompromisní teorie. Na závěr bude podán návrh na optimální kapitálovou strukturu společnosti.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the capital structure of small and medium-sized enterprises. Especially since the financial crisis in 2007, it is imperative that companies continuously analyze the financial situation of their companies, particularly focusing on the capital structure in order to assess the health of a company's ability to pay its obligations. The aim of this thesis is, to carry out a financial analysis of the company Hollandia Karlovy Vary and explain basic concepts, analyze the absolute values of the balance sheet, calculate the ratios of profitability, leverage, liquidity. Further evaluate the capital structure through balance rules, calculate indifference break-even- point, financial leverage, Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) and estimated cost of equity using the modular model INFA. The thesis will examine the ratio of debt by the individual theories, e.g. according to classical theory, the theory of hierarchical order, compromise theory. At the end, it will be recommend the optimal capital structure of the company.
