Development of motivational strategies for teaching of high school students

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje tématu motivační strategie k učení u žáků středních odborných škol. V teoretické části jsme se pokusili shrnout základní pojmy z oblasti motivace a motivačních strategií. Dále se věnujeme motivacím ve výchovně vzdělávacím procesu, a především jakým způsobem můžeme u těchto žáků motivaci k učení rozvíjet včetně metod, které mají motivací k učení zajistit. Kromě zmíněného se zabýváme osobností učitele a žáka, školním známkováním a hodnocením a v neposlední řadě také školnímu prostředí. Ve výzkumné části jsme pomocí standardizovaného výzkumného nástroje zjišťovali motivace k učení u žáků 1. a 4. ročníků středních odborných škol. Výzkumný vzorek 1. ročníků zahrnoval celkem 114 respondentů a výzkumný vzorek 4. ročníků tvořil celkem 104 respondentů, tedy celkem 218 respondentů. Pomocí Dotazníku motivačních strategií k učení, v originálním znění Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire, zkratka MSLQ, jsme získali mnoho dat, které zhodnotíme pomocí softwaru Statgraphics Centurion XVI.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of motivation strategies for learning of students attending vocational high schools. In the theoretical part, we tried to summarize the basic concepts of motivation and motivational strategies. Next, we focus on motivation in the educational process, and in particular, how we can develop motivation to learn, including methods that should ensure the motivation to learn. Apart from all of the above, we are concerned with the personality of the teacher and the student, the school grading and evaluation, and last but not least the school environment. In the research part, using the standardized research tool, we identified learning motivations of students attending 1st and 4th years of vocational high schools. The research sample of the 1st year students included a total of 114 respondents and the research sample of the 4th year students consisted of 104 respondents, a total of 218 respondents. Using the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire, MSLQ, we have obtained a vast amount of data that we evaluate using software Statgraphics Centurion XVI.
