Possibility to perform personal ADL when function of one upper extremity is lost in patients after stroke

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se budu zabývat důležitou oblastí ergoterapeutické intervence a to nácvikem personálních všedních denních činností u pacientů po prodělání cévní mozkové příhody s postižením jedné horní končetiny. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na problematiku cévní mozkové příhody, uvádím příčiny afunkčnosti horní končetiny, důsledky, se kterými se potýkají pacienti při poruše funkce horní končetiny. Dále uvádím možnosti, které mohou být u pacientů při nácviku ADL využity, tak aby se snížila míra jejich závislosti na druhé osobě a byli tak schopni samostatného a plnohodnotného života. V práci se též věnuji oblasti terapeutických přístupů a kompenzačních pomůcek, které jsou nedílnou součástí života s disabilitou a zlepšují tak jeho kvalitu. V praktické části uvádím kazuistiky 3 pacientů, u kterých hodnotím ergoterapeutickým vyšetřením stav, stanovuji krátkodobý i dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán, včetně zhodnocení terapie a stavu soběstačnosti pacienta po ergoterapeutické intervenci. Výsledky, kterých pacienti na konci hospitalizace dosáhli, následně porovnávám.

Abstract:

In my Bachelor thesis I deal with an important part of occupational therapy intervention, which is training of personal daily activities at patients after stroke with disability of one upper extremity. Theoretical part is focused on stroke, I explain causes of non-functional upper extremity and consequences that the patients with malfunction of the upper extremity face. Next, I state possibilities that patients can use when training ADL activities to decrease their reliance on other persons and to be able to live an independent and fulfilling life. In my thesis I also describe occupational therapy approaches and compensatory aids, which are integral part of life with disability and improve its quality. In practical part I show case history of 3 patients, by which I evaluate their condition by occupational therapy examination, I determine short-term and long-term therapy planincluding evaluation of therapy and state of self-sufficiency of patient after occupational therapy intervention. Afterwards, I compare results that the patients reached at the end of their hospitalization.
