Abstract:

Disertační práce je zaměřená na propojení behaviorální ekonomie a veřejných financí. Hlavním cílem disertační práce je strukturovaně a logicky zpracovat základní teorie a vývoj behaviorální ekonomie, empiricky ověřit získané poznatky a analyzovat možnost aplikace daných zjištění v praxi s akcentem na veřejné finance. Součástí práce je realizace akademického výzkumu se zaměřením ekonometrickou analýzu vztahu mezi příjmy a kvalitou života na úrovni jedinců i celých ekonomik. Na úrovni jedinců byl vztah zkoumán pomocí ekonometrické analýzy a behaviorálního konceptu „Status quo“, kdy relativně nedávná globální ekonomická krize poskytla ideální referenční bod pro analýzu daného konceptu v oblasti veřejných financí, a zároveň poskytla dostatečné množství dat pro daný výzkum. Na úrovni ekonomik byla realizovaná analýza prostřednictvím panelových dat z více než 140 zemí. Dosažené výsledky lze interpretovat jako verifikaci zmíněného behaviorálního konceptu na makroekonomických datech a spolu se ostatními závěry mohou být využity pro potenciální aplikaci poznatků z behaviorální ekonomie ve veřejných financích nebo při tvorbě veřejných politik, které přispěji ke zlepšení kvality života.

Abstract:

The dissertation focuses on the link between behavioural economics and public finance. The main objective of the dissertation is to present the basic theories and development of behavioural economics in a structured and logical way, to empirically verify the obtained findings and to analyse the possibility of applying the findings in practice with an emphasis on public finance. The thesis includes the implementation of academic research focusing on econometric analysis of the relationship between income and quality of life at the level of individuals and entire economies. At the level of individuals, the relationship was examined using econometric analysis and the behavioural concept of the "status quo", where the relatively recent global economic crisis provided an ideal reference point for the analysis of the concept in the area of public finance, while providing sufficient data for the research. At the level of economies, the analysis was carried out using panel data from more than 140 countries. The results obtained can be interpreted as a verification of the behavioural concept on macroeconomic data and, together with other findings, can be used for the potential application of behavioural economics in public finance or in the design of public policies that contribute to improving the quality of life.
