The role of selected non-profit organization of animal protection in the development of the region

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je ochrana zvířat v České republice a role neziskového sektoru v dané problematice. V práci jsou nejprve charakterizovány etické aspekty ochrany zvířat, dále právní stanoviska jejich ochrany a neziskový sektor, který propojuje právě onu potřebu pomáhat, protože je to z morálního hlediska správné, s nutností suplovat roli státu, který není plně schopen postarat se o opuštěná a týraná zvířata, která pomoc potřebují. Dále jsou vybrány tři země, Francie, Nizozemsko a Rakousko, u kterých je provedena stručná charakteristika ochrany zvířat v daném státě a zároveň je zmíněn příklad dobré praxe, který je v oblasti ochrany zvířat efektivní. V praktické části je vybrána konkrétní nezisková organizace, která se věnuje ochraně zvířat, je provedena analýza její činnosti a na závěr jsou navrženy postupy pro její další rozvoj.

Abstract:

The topic of this Bachelor Thesis is the protection of animals in the Czech Republic and the role of the non-profit sector in relation thereto. The thesis first characterises the ethical aspects of animal protection. This is then followed by a characterisation of the associated legal framework and the non-profit sector that connects the need to help from a moral standpoint with the need to supplement the role of the state, which does not have the capacity to fully take care of abandoned and abused animals in need of help. Next, the thesis focuses on three selected countries – Austria, France and the Netherlands – for which it presents a brief characterisation of animal protection along with an example of good and effective practices in the area of animal protection. In the second part, the thesis selects a specific non-profit organisation focusing on animal protection and provides an analysis of the organisation's activities. Finally, approaches for their further development are suggested.
