Quality of non-financial information of electricity producers in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá vykazovanou kvalitu nefinančních informací výrobců elektrické energie v České republice. V literární rešerši jsou definovány podstatné pojmy a legislativní rámec, s důrazem na významné směrnice. V analytické části je využit kvalitativní výzkum čtyř hlavních výrobců elektrické energie v České republice v období let 2018 až 2022. Pro následnou komparaci je kvalitativní analýza aplikována také na země Visegrádské skupiny. Na základě kvalitativních výzkumů bylo zjištěno, že výrobci elektřiny v rámci V4 vykazují vysokých kvalit nefinančních výkazů, přičemž Maďarsko vykazuje nejvyšší kvalitativní úroveň. V závěru práce je identifikován vztah mezi kvalitou nefinančních výkazů a finančními ukazateli. Z výsledků vyplývá diskuse o legislativní úpravě a doporučení pro zvýšení úrovně kvality nefinančních výkazů výrobců elektrické energie v České republice.

Abstract:

The thesis examines the reported quality of non-financial information of electricity producers in the Czech Republic. The literature search defines the relevant concepts and the legislative framework, with an emphasis on important directives. In the analytical part is used qualitative research of the four main electricity producers in the Czech Republic in the period 2018 to 2022. For subsequent comparison, the qualitative analysis is also applied to the Visegrad Group countries. Based on the qualitative research, it was found that electricity generators in the V4 exhibit high quality of non-financial statements, with Hungary showing the highest qualitative level. The conclusion identifies the relationship between the quality of non-financial reports and financial indicators. The results lead to a discussion of legislative adjustments and recommendations for improving the quality level of non-financial statements of electricity producers in the Czech Republic.
