Foxtail millet in the diet of broiler chickens

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na stanovení retence dusíkatých látek (NL) a tuku v organismu brojlerových kuřat po zařazení béru italského (Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.) do krmné směsi. Zároveň bylo ověřováno biochemické složení krve a produkční ukazatelé (podíl jatečně upraveného těla, konverze krmiva, hmotnost jater a srdce). Do pokusu s délkou trvání 36 dní, byla zařazena brojlerová kuřata Ross 308, která byla v průběhu trvání pokusu krmená ad libitum směsmi KONTROLA, BÉR 5 % a BÉR 40 %. Jejich složení navíc zahrnovalo indikátor oxid chromitý (0,3 %), pomocí něhož byly stanoveny koeficienty bilanční stravitelnosti a retence již zmíněných živin. Retence NL byla u kontrolní směsi v průměru 67,78 %, u směsi BÉR 5 % 66,19 % a u směsi BÉR 40 % 68,62 %. Pro tuk byla v průměru 84,95 % (kontrolní směs), 86,57 % (BÉR 5 %) a 90,21 % (BÉR 40 %). Retence NL béru italského byla stanovena diferenční metodou na průměrných 73,15 % za sledované období. V biochemickém vyšetření krve nebyly zjištěny průkazné rozdíly (P>0,05) a stejně tak u produkčních vlastností brojlerových kuřat (hodnoceno Scheffeho testem). Průměrný podíl JUT byl 69,07 % u kontrolní směsi, 69,05 % u směsi BÉR 5 % a 68,93 % u směsi BÉR 40 %. Konverze krmiva představovala v průměru 1,277 u kontrolní směsi, 1,323 u směsi BÉR 5 % a 1,353 u směsi BÉR 40 %. Bér lze tedy zařadit do krmné směsi, aniž by měl negativní dopad na zdravotní stav kuřat či retenci živin, která ve srovnání s kontrolní směsí dokonce vzrostla při zařazení 40 % béru do krmné směsi.

Abstract:

The diplome thesis focuses on the determination of the retention of crude protein (CP) and crude fat in the organism of broiler chickens after the addition of Foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.) To the feed mixture. At the same time, the biochemical composition of the blood and production qualities (proportion of carcass, feed conversion ratio (FCR), liver and heart weight) were verified. Ross 308 broiler chickens were included in the 36-day experiment, which were fed ad libitum a mixture of CONTROL, BER 5% and BER 40% during the experiment. In addition, their composition included the chromium oxide indicator (0,3 %), which was used to determine the coefficients of apparent digestibility and retention of the already mentioned nutrients. The retention of CP was 67,78 % in the control mixture, 66,19 % in the mixture BÉR 5 % and 68,62 % in the mixture BÉR 40 %. For crude fat, it was on average 84,95 % (control mixture), 86,57 % (BÉR 5 %) and 90,21 % (BER 40 %). The CP retention of Foxtail millet was set at an average 73,15 % over the observed period. There were no significant differences in the biochemical analysis of the blood (P>0,05) as well as in the production qualities of broiler chickens (assessed by the Scheffe test). The average carcass content was 69,07 % for the control mixture, 69,05 % for the BÉR 5 % mixture and 68,93 % for the BÉR 40 % mixture. Feed conversion ratio was average 1,277 for control mixtures, 1,323 for BÉR 5 % and 1,353 for BÉR 40 %. Foxtail millet can therefore be included in the feed mixture without negative impact on the health of the chickens or the nutrient retention, which increased compared to the control mixture when 40 % of the foxtail millet was added to the feed mixture.
