Local Government in Great Britain and its Comparison with Local Government in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá především územní správou a územním členěním ve Spojeném království Velké Británie a Severního Irska. V teoretické části této práce je nejprve provedena analýza pojmů vztahujících se k tématu práce. Dále jsou stručně uvede-ny základní vlastnosti britského správního systému, popsána struktura ústřední vlády a his-torii britské správy. Součástí teoretické části je také jedna z nejdůležitějších kapitol práce, a to organizace britského správního systému a zejména pak podrobný popis územního členě-ní jednotlivých zemí Spojeného království. Praktická část je zaměřena na srovnání určitých základních prvků správního systému Velké Británie a České republiky a okrajově je uvedeno několik příkladů možností aplikace prvků správy ve Velké Británii v České republice.

Abstract:

The thesis mainly deals with the local government and the territorial division in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In the first part, terms relating to the thesis subject are analyzed. The introduction of main characteristics of the British administrative system as well as description of the central government structure and British administration history follows. One of the most important sections of the thesis is included in this part {--} description of organization of the British administrative system and detailed description of territorial division of the constituent countries of the United Kingdom. The second part is focused on comparison of specific British and Czech administrative system components as well as on a few examples of possibilities of British system compo-nents application in the Czech Republic administrative system. The last mentioned are in-troduced only marginally.
