The connection between business strategy and IT strategy in the SME environment

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje tématu propojení strategie IT na strategii podniku, případně další podpůrné strategie. Řeší téma využití IT technologií a technologických trendů v návaznosti na propojení těchto strategií. Hlavním cílem je popsat tuto oblast z pohledu prostředí malých a středních podniků (SMB) a nalezení možností a řešení, které jsou pro tento typ společností aplikovatelné. Jednotlivé části práce se věnují těmto konkrétním tématům a náplni.První kapitola se zaměřuje na uvedení čtenáře do problematiky daného tématu a prezentuje motivaci a cíle práce.Druhá kapitola, za pomoci rešerše vybraných zdrojů, charakterizuje oblast strategie řízení podniku a informační strategie a popisuje vztah podnikové a informační strategie, vztah procesů a vztah ke strategickému řízení. Zároveň se snaží ukázat aktuální trendy a pohledy na tuto tématiku z oblastí IT technologií, technologických trendů, strategie řízení a vybraných poznatků z praxe. Součástí této části je také návrh a formulace metody pro konkrétní case study (případovou studii).Třetí kapitola se věnuje vypracování konkrétní případové studie na základě poznatků a praktické realizace z prostředí vybrané SMB společnosti se zaměřením na vybrané oblasti, kterými jsou například obchod, marketing, produktový management, případně další vybrané. Cílem bylo najít reálné příklady digitální transformace“ nebo „digitalizace podnikání“ a popsat jejich aplikaci nebo možnosti využití ve vybraném podniku.Základním úkolem práce je seznámit čtenáře s danou problematikou. Největší přínos práce spatřuje autor v kombinaci tradičního pohledu s aktuálními trendy, konkrétními příklady z praxe, zkušenostmi a osobním pohledem na řešení dané problematiky.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the connection between IT strategy and company strategy and other relevant strategies. The paper focuses on using IT technology and technological trends in connection to the mutual relations of these strategies. The main objective is to describe this area from the point of view of the environment of small and medium-sized business and to look for possibilities and solutions which are applicable to these types of companies. The individual parts of this thesis study these specific topics and the subject of this work.The first chapter focuses on introducing the target audience to the problem of this topic and presenting the motivation and goal of the thesis.The second chapter, which includes supporting research from selected sources, characterizes the area of strategy of company management and information strategy, and describes the relation between company and information strategies, between processes and its connection to strategic management. At the same time, it strives to show current trends and perspectives on the topic of IT technologies, technological trends, strategic management and chosen findings from hands-on experience. This section also includes a proposal and description of the method used for a specific case study.The third chapter examines creating a specific case study based on the findings and practical realization in the environment of the given SMB company, focusing on the chosen area, such as sales, marketing, product management and others. The goal was to find real examples of digital transformation or business digitalization and describe their application or possible utilization in the given company.The main goal of this work is to introduce the reader to the given subject. The main value of this work can be seen in the combination of the traditional point of view with current trends, specific examples from real practice and experiences, as well as a personal view on possible solutions.
