The palliative care at homes for the elderly in the context of humanistic theories

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřená na využití humanistických principů při poskytování paliativní péče v domovech pro seniory. Východiskem jsou humanistické teorie aplikované do oblasti sociální práce. Cílem je popsat poskytování paliativní péče v domovech pro seniory, při které budou využity principy vycházející z humanistických přístupů. Úkolem takto aplikovaných humanistických principů při paliativní péči v domovech pro seniory je bezpodmínečné kladné přijetí a vstřícná akceptace vážně nemocného nebo umírajícího člověka v aktivně vytvářeném empatickém vztahu, který je doprovázen aktivním nasloucháním a autenticitou. Bakalářská práce popisuje využití Rogersovské psychoterapie, která se řadí mezi humanistické teorie, při doprovázení v paliativní péči. Tuto Rogersovskou psychoterapii by měl být schopen využít kdokoliv z týmu pracovníků nebo ti, kteří jsou umírajícímu nejbližší. V Rogersovské psychoterapii je nejdůležitějším aspektem psychoterapeutický vztah. A právě takový vztah můžeme s vážně nemocným nebo umírajícím navázat.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the use of humanistic principles in the provision of palliative care in nursing homes. The starting point is the humanistic theory applied to social work. The aim is to describe the provision of palliative care in nursing homes, in which the principles of humanistic approaches will be used. The task of such humanistic principles applied in palliative care in nursing homes is unconditional positive and welcoming acceptance of a seriously ill or dying person in active creation of an empathic relationship, which is accompanied by active listening and authenticity. The bachelor thesis describes the use of Rogerian psychotherapy, one of the humanistic theories, while guiding somebody through palliative care. Any member of the team of workers or those who are closest to the dying should be able to use Rogerian psychotherapy. In Rogerian psychotherapy, the most important aspect is the psychotherapeutic relationship; and such a relationship can be established with a seriously ill or dying individual.
