Development of the European Commission after Maastricht

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce je vývoj Evropské komise od přijetí Maastrichtské smlouvy po současnost. Nejprve se v rámci EU zabývám pojmy institucionalismus a integrace, na které navazuji intergovernmetálním a supranacionálním přístupem k evropské integraci. Dále se věnuji vývoji primárního práva EU od podepsání Maastrichtské smlouvy. V následujících kapitolách se již věnuji samotné instituci. Nejprve přiblížím její funkci a strukturu, poté se zabývám pravomocemi, kterými v současné době disponuje a které získala od Smlouvy o EU. V poslední kapitole se pak věnuji možnému budoucímu vývoji zmiňovaných institucí.

Abstract:

The topic of my thesis is the development of the European Commission since the adoption of the Maastricht Treaty to the present day. At first I am dealing with concepts of institutionalism and integration within the EU, then I continue with intergovernmental and supranational approach to European integration. After that I pay attention to the evolution of EU primary law since signing Maastricht Treaty. In the following chapters I deal with institution itself, firstly I zoom its function and structure, then I deal with powers which it have now and which it have obtained from the EU Treaty. In the last chapter, I deal with possible future developments of the mentioned institutions.
