Functional Literacy in the Context of Czech Environment

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá funkční gramotnosti. Vymezuje, co pojem funkční gramotnost znamená, a pokouší se najít odpověď na otázku, jak je na tom s funkční gramotností český národ. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části práce je vysvětlen rozdíl mezi pojmy gramotnost a funkční gramotnost. Dále tato část představuje různé složky a modely funkční gramotnosti, faktory ovlivňující funkční gramotnost, příčiny funkční negramotnosti přehled výzkumů funkční gramotnosti u nás a možnosti zvyšování funkční gramotnosti u nás. Praktická část se věnuje výzkumu na odborném učilišti a praktické škole v Hlučíně. Cílem výzkumu bylo porovnat rozdíly ve funkční gramotnosti mezi žáky 9. tříd a žáky na odborném učilišti. K výzkumu bylo použito testů společnosti PISA.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with functional literacy. It defines what the term functional literacy means and tries to find an answer to the question as to how functional literacy Czech nation. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part explains the difference between the concepts of literacy and functional literacy. This section also presents the various components and models of functional literacy, factors affecting functional literacy, functional illiteracy causes functional literacy survey research with us and the possibility of increasing the functional literacy in the country. The practical part is devoted to research the vocational school and the practical school Hlučín. The aim of the research was to compare the differences in functional literacy among 9th grade pupils and students at vocational school. The research was used PISA test method.
