Some methods of approximation

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je představit vybrané druhy aproximačních metod a poskytnout čtenáři jejich řešené příklady včetně postupu řešení a vizuální podpory ve formě grafů. Jedná se tedy o teoretickou práci popisující polynomiální interpolaci, splajnovou interpolaci a metodu nejmenších čtverců. V rámci polynomiální interpolace jsou představeny dva druhy metod: Lagrangeův tvar a Newtonův tvar interpolačního polynomu. Součástí druhé kapitoly nazvané Interpolace pomocí splajn-funkcí jsou tři druhy splajn-funkcí, z nichž nejvýznamnějším je přirozený kubický splajn. Poslední kapitola zahrnuje popis základních typů aproximace metody nejmenších čtverců pomocí přímky, paraboly, polynomu a exponenciální funkce.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present selected types of approximation methods and to provide the reader with their solved examples, including the solution procedure and visual support in the form of graphs. This is therefore a theoretical thesis describing polynomial interpolation, spline interpolation and the method of least-squares regression. Within the framework of polynomial interpolation, two types of methods are presented: the Lagrange form and the Newton form of the interpolation polynomials. Part of the second chapter, entitled Interpolation using spline functions, includes three types of spline functions, the most important of which is the natural cubic spline. The last chapter includes a description of the basic types of approximation of the method of least-squares regression using a straight line, a parabola, a polynomial and an exponential.
