The prayer as a means to ecumenical dialogue

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá modlitbami, které podporují ekumenický dialog. Teoretická část se věnuje vysvětlení pojmu ekumenismu a historii ekumenického hnutí. Třetí kapitola pojednává o římskokatolické církvi a jejímu přístupu k ekumenickému hnutí; její postoje, zaznamenané v církevních dokumentech, jsou zde stručně představeny. Další kapitola se zabývá modlitbou; snaží se najít její biblické východisko, ale oporu hledá též v jiných dokumentech. Dále jsou rozebírány jednotlivé modlitby, které mají ekumenický charakter. O každé modlitbě je nastíněn její vznik, historie, současnost a hlavně, v čem spočívá. Výzkumná část se snaží zjistit vztah samotných křesťanů k ekumenickým modlitbám, jestli se jich účastní a zda si myslí, že pomáhají ekumenickému dialogu a proč.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with prayers which support ecumenical dialogue. The theoretical part is dedicated to the explanation of the concept of ecumenism and to the history of the ecumenical movement. The third chapter deals with the Roman Catholic Church and its attitude to the ecumenical movement; its position recorded in church documents are briefly introduced there. The next chapter is focused on the prayer; trying to find a biblical basis, but also looking for a foothold in other documents. There are also analyzed individual prayers which have ecumanical character. The research part is trying to find out the relationship of the Christians themselves to ecumenical prayers, whether they involve and whether they think that these prayers assist ecumanical dialogue and why.
