Anotace:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat a porovnat fonetický systém britské a americké angličtiny a pomocí poslechové metody zjistit, které variantě angličtiny dávají přednost bilingvní a nerodilí mluvčí angličtiny. První část práce popisuje historický vývoj a dvě standardní variety anglického jazyka. V druhé části je představen fonetický popis britské a americké angličtiny z artikulačního hlediska a základní rozdíly vyslovnosti. Třetí část je zaměřena na zkoumání promluv reportérů německého vysílatele Deutsche Welle.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to describe and compare the phonetic system of British and American English and with the help of the listening method to discover which Standard English is preferable by bilingual and non-native speakers of English. The first part of the thesis describes the historical development of the English language and two Standard English Forms. The second part introduces the phonetic description of British and American English and primary differences between two types of pronunciation. The third part focuses on analysing the speeches of the reporters working for the German news broadcoaster Deutsche Welle.
