Crime prevention and Sense od Security from the Perspective of Usti nad Labem Region Residents

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je tematicky orientována na problematiku prevence kriminality a pocitu bezpečí občanů vybraného okresu v rámci Ústeckého kraje. Její koncept vychází z pojetí širších výzkumných aktivit KSSP PF UJEP realizovaných ve spolupráci s Ústeckým krajem. Teoretická východiska práce vychází z aktuálních poznatků v oblasti kriminality, prevence kriminality a sociální prevence. Pozornost bude věnována také otázkám vnímání vybraných aspektů kriminality a pocitu bezpečí občanů. V neposlední řadě jsme se zaměřili vybrané strategie a aktivity v oblasti prevence kriminality, sociálně patologických jevů a rizikového chování. V empirické části práce jsou prezentovány výsledky kvantitativně orientovaného dotazníkového výzkumného šetření, zaměřeného na vybrané aspekty prevence kriminality a pocitu bezpečí, a to z pohledu obyvatel okresu Ústí nad Labem. Výzkumný vzorek je tvořen 273 respondenty reprezentujícími různé skupiny obyvatel z hlediska pohlaví, věku či velikosti sídla. Výstupem práce jsou strukturovaná doporučení pro zkvalitnění realizace aktivit v oblasti prevence kriminality a sociální prevence v uvedeném regionu.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is thematically focused on the issue of crime prevention and citizens' sense of security in a selected district within the Ústecký Region. Its concept is based on the broader research activities of the Department of Security Studies at the Faculty of Law of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University conducted in collaboration with the Ústí nad Labem Region. The theoretical framework of the thesis draws from current knowledge in the field of crime, crime prevention, and social prevention. Attention will also be given to questions concerning the perception of selected aspects of crime and citizens' sense of security. Furthermore, we have examined selected strategies and activities in the realm of crime prevention, socially pathological phenomena, and risky behavior. The empirical section of the thesis presents the results of a quantitatively oriented questionnaire-based research survey, focused on selected aspects of crime prevention and the sense of security from the perspective of residents of the Ústí nad Labem district. The research sample consists of 273 respondents representing various groups of inhabitants in terms of gender, age, and settlement size. The output of the thesis consists of structured recommendations for enhancing the implementation of activities in the field of crime prevention and social prevention in the mentioned region.
