Gender diversity in management

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice genderové diverzity v managementu se zaměřením na Českou republiku. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda v současnosti existují rozdíly v zaměstnávání mužů a žen na manažerských pozicích, zpracovat výsledky dotazníkového šetření, a pro případ vyskytujících se rozdílů navrhnout opatření k jejich vyrovnání. Práce především porovnává počet mužů a žen na manažerských pozicích, zároveň zkoumá, jak jsou okolím vnímány rozdíly mezi muži a ženami ve vedoucích funkcích a jejich přístupy k vedení lidí. Teoretická část objasňuje pojmy gender, genderové role, genderové stereotypy, manažerské funkce, část teoretické části se věnuje historii ženské práce. Výzkumná část je rozdělena na několik kapitol. První dvě kapitoly seznamují s postupem sběru dat a strukturou dotazníku. Další pak nabízí představení vzorku společností s detailním popsáním výsledků jednotlivých šetření. Následuje celkové vyhodnocení dat získaných z jednotlivých dotazníků, které jsou spojeny dle oborů podnikání. Poslední kapitola se věnuje návrhu opatření a výpočtu nákladů spojených s realizací těchto navrhovaných opatření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of gender diversity in management with a focus on the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether there are currently differences in the employment of men and women in managerial positions, to process the results of a questionnaire survey, and to propose measures to address any differences that may arise. The thesis primarily compares the number of men and women in managerial positions, while also examining how differences between men and women in leadership positions are perceived by others and their approaches to people management. The theoretical part clarifies concepts such as gender, gender roles, gender stereotypes, managerial functions, part of the theoretical part is devoted to the history of women's work. The research section is divided into several chapters. The first two chapters introduce the data collection process and the structure of the questionnaire. The next one offers an introduction to a sample of companies with a detailed description of the results of individual surveys. This is followed by an overall evaluation of the data obtained from the individual questionnaires, which are combined according to business sectors. The final chapter focuses on proposing measures and calculating the costs associated with implementing these proposed measures.
