Portfolio of IT Services in Startup

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl identifikovat strukturu a obsah portfolia IT služeb uvnitř startupu. Vymezuje základní pojmy a funkcionality zkoumaných prvků a monitoruje vliv podnikatelských inkubátorů na skladbu portfolia IT služeb. Cíle je dosaženo pomocí dvou přístupů, které se vzájemně doplňují. Nejprve je uveden souhrn dostupných informací z literatury a internetových zdrojů, které dávají základ praktickému výzkumu. To probíhalo ve formě interview v rámci 5 náhodně vybraných startupů, které buď prošly inkubačním procesem, nebo se v něm nacházejí, nebo ním nikdy nebyly ovlivněny. Přínos práce je, že ukazuje společné prvky v portfoliu IT služeb uvnitř startupů na základě dat pořízených v reálně existujících společnostech, což se mi nepovedlo v žádné jiné literatuře nalézt. Práce je strukturována do několika logicky navazujících částí. První z nich je 'Startup' v rámci níž se vymezuje tento v literatuře ne příliš často definovaný pojem, ukazuje jeho životní cyklus, právní formy a další. Další kapitola, 'Podnikatelské inkubátory', pro ukazuje instituce, které aktivně pomáhají ve vzniku nových startupů. V této kapitole jsou vymezeny činnosti, které se uvnitř inkubátoru odehrávají a vztah této instituce vůči startupům. Třetí kapitola pojednává o IT službách, je zde specifikováno, co je jejich obsahem a jaká je jejich kategorizace. Na základě předešlých 3 kapitol vznikla metodika, podle níž probíhala šetření v jednotlivých podnicích. V závěru práce je zhodnocen vliv inkubátorů na portfolio IT služeb a popis výsledků pozorování.

Abstract:

Goal of this thesis is identification of IT services structure and content inside startups. It defines basic terms and functionalities of examined subject and reflects influence of business incubators on composition of IT services portfolio. Goal is achieved by two accesses to solution, which complement each other. Firstly, there is summary of information from literature and internet resources, which make basis for practical research. It had form of interview with 5 randomly chosen startup representatives. Some of them were during research in incubation process, some of them after it and some of them have never attended in such a process. The contribution of this thesis is that it shows common elements of IT services portfolio in different startups, based on data from praxis, which I could not find in any other literature. Thesis is structured in to couple of logically connected parts. First of them is called 'Startup'. There is defined this, in literature not very commonly used, term. It show lifecycle of startup, its legal form etc. Next chapter, "business incubators" shows institutions, which actively helps to found new startups. In this chapter, there are defined activities, which occurs inside the incubator and relation between incubator and startup. Third chapter is about IT services. There is specified what is their contents and what does their categorization look like. Based on first three chapters was formed methodology, which were used during research in each startup. In a last chapter, there is compered influence of incubator on IT services portfolio and announced results of research.
