Reading literacy of pupils at the end of the first educational period in relation to teaching methods

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá čtenářskou gramotností žáků na konci 1. vzdělávacího období ve vztahu k vyučovací metodě. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda a v čem se liší úroveň čtenářské gramotnosti u žáků, kteří se učili číst metodou analyticko-syntetickou nebo genetickou. V první části jsou shrnuty teoretické poznatky o čtenářské gramotnosti a gramotnosti obecně. Dále jsou zde popsány výukové metody čtení a podrobněji rozebrány a srovnány metody analyticko-syntetická a genetická. Druhá část, praktická, popisuje a vyhodnocuje výzkumné šetření, které přináší poznatky o úrovni čtenářské gramotnosti žáků čtvrtých tříd, kteří mají již ukončené 1. vzdělávací období. Šetření bylo realizováno formou testů čtenářské gramotnosti a poskytuje přehled o tom, jaké jsou rozdíly v úrovni čtenářské gramotnosti u žáků, kteří se učili číst různými výukovými metodami.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the reading literacy of pupils at the end of their first period of education in relation to a teaching method. The aim of the thesis is to find out if the level of the reading literacy of the pupils who were taught by analytical-synthetic method or genetic method is different and in what aspects. Theoretical knowledge about reading literacy and about literacy in general is summarized in the first part. There is the description of teaching reading methodology and analytical-synthetic method and genetic method are dealt with and compared in more details there. The second part of the thesis is practical. It describes and evaluates research which brings information about the level of reading literacy of fourth grade pupils, who have finished their first period of education. The research was carried out through reading literacy tests and it provides a survey of reading literacy level differences among pupils who were taught to read by different teaching methods.
