Humour in Czech Translations of "Three Men in a Boat
Abstract:
Diplomová práce pojednává o ústředních prostředcích humoru v románu Jeroma Klapky Jeroma Tři muži ve člunu a předkládá jejich tři české překlady – Vladimíra Henzla, J. Z. Nováka a Milana Žáčka. Dále jednotlivé prostředky definuje a uvádí poznatky týkající se překladových postupů, metod, řešení a tendencí těchto tří překladatelů.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with leading humour devices in Jerome Klapka Jerome’s humorous novel Three Men in a Boat and presents their Czech translations by Vladimír Henzl, J. Z. Novák and Milan Žáček. It defines the particular devices and provides the findings concerning the individual translators’ procedures, methods, solutions and tendencies.
