Hero and his image in the Media viewed by the pubescents from Traditional Primary Schools and Waldorf Primary Schools

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské diplomové práce je zkoumání, jakých podob nabývá hrdina a jeho mediální obraz očima dnešních pubescentů. V první části práce jsou nastíněny teoretické koncepty, které vytváří znalostní zázemí pro interpretace, jež jsou představeny v analytické části. Ta pak popisuje výsledky získané v rámci dotazníkového šetření a hloubkových rozhovorů s respondenty z tradičních a waldorfských základních škol. Výzkum se soustřeďuje zejména na dvě otázky: Jak jsou hrdinové respondentů pojímáni v médiích a zda ovlivňuje typ vzdělání jedince jeho hodnotové preference ve vztahu k tomu, kdo je podle něj hrdinou. Tvorba hrdinů, popř. podílení se na mýtotvorbě je jednou z charakteristik mediálního průmyslu. V současné době představuje právě vztah dětí a médií jednu z klíčových otázek veřejnosti. Z tohoto důvodu je třeba věnovat zejména fenoménu mediálního hrdiny dostatek pozornosti a prostoru, kterých se mu v akademických studiích doposud nedostává. Tato práce je tak pokusem o hlubší vědomostní „zasíťování“ doposud neprobádaných oblastí, jež souvisí s touto extra-mediální problematikou.

Abstract:

This Bachelor's Thesis deals with various forms of hero and his image in the media from current pubescent's point of view. First part of this Thesis is focused on theoretical concepts which create a knowledge base for interpretations presented in the analytical part of this work. The analytical part describes the findings gained from questionnaire survey and interviews with respondents from traditional and Waldorf primary schools. Research here is primary focused on two questions: what is the way heroes are presented in the media and whether the type of education of the individual affects value preferences related to who is a hero. Constitution of heroes and participating in myth creation is one of the main characteristics of media industry and it is just the relationship between children and the media what creates one of the key issuess in public debate today. This is the reason why it is neccessary to pay attention on media hero phenomena - and it is true that in the academic research this is still not the case. This Thesis is thus a kind of deeper "netting" of so far unresearched areas relating with this extra-media problematics.
