Role of European NGOs in development cooperation

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je dokázat, že rozvojové nevládní organizace (NGOs) mají vliv na formování rozvojové politiky Evropské unie. Klíčovou myšlenkou práce je přitom konstruktivistické tvrzení, že zájmy aktérů jsou vytvářeny normami, v nichž tito aktéři existují. Jako výzkumný přístup jsem zvolila případovou studii, která popisuje interakci mezi Evropskou unií a CONCORDem – konfederací evropských rozvojových NGOs. Tezí práce je, že CONCORD má vliv na formování rozvojové politiky Evropské unie, protože vytváří normy, které jsou evropskými institucemi přijímány.

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is to prove that the development non-government organizations (NGOs) influence the forming of development politics of European Union. The key point of the work is a constructivist statement that the interests of actors are formed by the norms in which these actors exist. The chosen methodology is a case study of interaction between European Union and CONCORD – the confederation of European development NGOs. The hypothesis of my work is that CONCORD influences the forming of development politics of European Union because it creates norms that are accepted by the European institutions.
